Texture: from straight to curly

Every length and every color is available in six textures. Choose one that matches your own hair — otherwise the difference will be noticeable as soon as you wear your hair down:

Because it’s real hair, every texture can also be straightened or curled later — with heat protection and preferably at 160 to 180 degrees.

Wig, topper or ponytail — what suits when?

Not everyone who is looking for a wig actually needs one. Often much less is enough, and that costs much less too.

• Full wig (wig) — when your own hair should be completely covered. Also available as a lace closure or lace frontal so the hairline looks natural. Possible with us from 100 grams.
• Topper — a crown hairpiece. For when the hair has become thinner at the parting but the rest is still there. Needs much less hair than a full wig.
• Ponytail — a clip-in ponytail, for the occasion rather than for everyday.

The most important decision: how much hair?

With wigs, people almost always talk about length and color. But the question that decides whether a wig looks real or looks like it’s sitting on top is a different one: how much hair is actually in it. It is rarely asked, because with ready-made products it can’t be answered anyway — the amount is predetermined. With us, it’s your decision.

Too much hair is the most common reason you can tell a wig is a wig — more often than the color, more often than the hairline. Real hair on the head is not equally dense everywhere: it gets thinner toward the ends, it is finer at the temples, and for most adults it is much less dense than advertising images suggest.

Catalog products are almost always made on the full side, because a dense wig looks more impressive in the product photo. On the head, exactly that tips into the artificial: the hairline looks painted on, the hairstyle doesn’t move like your own hair, and in backlight it lacks the see-through quality that real hair always has. If you have fine natural hair, you are usually better off with less — even if it feels wrong to choose the smaller number when ordering.

Eight amounts to choose from

• 100 g · 125 g · 150 g · 175 g — for toppers, ponytails and hairpieces
• 200 g · 225 g · 250 g · 300 g — usual for full wigs, though they are possible from as little as 100 g

Length and amount are connected. The same number of grams looks dense at 40 cm and thin at 130 cm, because the hair is spread over a much greater distance. If you want long hair and don’t increase the amount accordingly, you get lengths that taper to a point at the bottom. From about 70 cm, the same effect needs noticeably more hair. For a topper, the area matters too

A topper only covers the crown, while your own hair stays visible all around. Here, alongside the amount, the base size: 3×5, 4×4, 5×5 and 5×6 is decisive. These measurements are inches, not centimeters — so 4×4 is roughly 10 × 10 cm.

The base should securely cover the thinning area, but no more than that. A base that is too large shows at the edge and stands out from your own hair. It’s worth measuring the area beforehand rather than generously rounding up.

Wefted or hand-tied?

Wefted means: the hair is sewn onto strips that are applied to the base. Robust and more affordable.

Hand-tied means: every single hair is knotted in. This takes many times longer, but falls more naturally, the hairline looks finer, and the parting can be placed freely rather than only where a weft allows it. If a parting you create yourself is important to you, you should mention it before ordering.

Which measurements you need for a full wig

Three measurements, taken with a soft measuring tape, ideally by someone else:

• Head circumference — once around the head, along the forehead and over the curve of the nape. Usually 52 to 60 cm.
• Forehead to nape — from the hairline at the forehead over the crown to the hairline at the nape. Usually 32 to 40 cm.
• Ear to ear — across the crown from one ear’s base to the other.

What a human hair wig costs

With a human hair wig, you’re not paying for a model, but for an amount of hair in a particular length. Once you’ve understood that, you can put any price into perspective. Length is the biggest cost factor: long hair of a quality that doesn’t thin out at the ends is rare — that’s why the price rises noticeably with each step and steeply beyond 100 cm. That’s not a markup, it’s the sourcing.

Care: wash less often than you think

The most common mistake isn’t the wrong shampoo, but washing too often. Your own hair gets greasy because the scalp produces more oil. A wig gets none of that — it doesn’t get greasy, it just gets dusty and absorbs odors.

Wash about every fifteen to twenty wears, not weekly. Anyone who washes more often makes the hair dull: once the natural oils are gone, they don’t come back on their own — there’s no scalp to supply more.

The four most important steps: brush through dry before water (real hair is most fragile when wet) · lukewarm instead of hot · wash in one direction, don’t knead — circling and scrunching tangles the hairs together permanently · squeeze out instead of rubbing. How many grams does a full wig need?

From 100 grams; 200 to 300 grams is usual. The longer the wig, the more hair it needs for the same look — but for short to medium lengths, the lower half of the range is often more right than you’d think.

Why does my wig look fake?

In most cases: too much hair. That is more noticeable than a slightly different color. Real hair on the head is not equally dense everywhere and shows through in backlight — a wig that is too dense doesn’t do that.

What’s the difference between wefted and hand-tied?

With wefted, hair wefts are sewn onto the base. With hand-tied, each hair is knotted in individually — a finer hairline, more natural fall, and the parting can be placed freely. Hand-tied takes many times longer and costs correspondingly more.

Can I color and style a human hair wig?

Straightening and curling, yes, just like your own hair — with heat protection and preferably at 160 to 180 degrees. Coloring is possible because it’s real hair; going darker works more reliably than going lighter, and it belongs in the hands of a hairdresser. If you want the shade to match from the start, order in a custom color — then re-coloring isn’t necessary at all.

How often do I have to wash it?

Every fifteen to twenty wears. Exceptions that call for more frequent washing: heavy sweating, smoke, kitchen odors. Then go by your nose rather than the calendar.

Which base size do I need for a topper?
