Invisible and Mini Tapes for fine hair
If your hair is fine or thin, Invisible Tape Extensions and Mini Tapes are the right choice. Invisible Tapes have an especially thin, transparent backing strip that adds less bulk and doesn’t show through on light colors. Mini Tapes and Invisible Mini Tapes are cut narrower, can be placed closer together and are less noticeable at the edges. For fine hair, 100 to 125 g is ideal, more is not better. How many tapes do I need?
Our standard tapes weigh 2.5 grams with a surface of 1 by 4 centimeters. So 100 grams is 40 tapes.
For simple thickening, 100 grams is usually enough. For a visible lengthening, most women plan on 150 grams, and with thick natural hair or from 60 centimeters, more like 200 grams. The seven tape types
Normal Tape is the sturdy standard for strong natural hair.
Invisible Tape has an especially thin, transparent backing strip. It adds less bulk and is suited to fine hair and light colors, where a backing would otherwise show through.
Mini Tape and Invisible Mini are cut narrower. They can be placed closer together, are less noticeable at the edges and are the choice for very fine hair.
Double Side Tape is adhesive on both sides and is placed around your own strand.
Long Tape is made longer. At 100 grams, this gives a total length of around 1.3 to 1.6 meters, so more surface per gram and a particularly even distribution in your natural hair. The exact length may vary slightly depending on the hair length and texture you choose.
Invisible Long Tape combines both: a long adhesive surface with a transparent backing strip. It lies flat and is the variant for thickening over a large area and for very long lengths.
How tape extensions sit
The flat adhesive strips are bonded above and below a strand of your own hair, with your strand lying in between. This is quick, sits flat against the head and is barely visible from the outside. The tapes are reusable and can be bonded again when they are moved up.

What does application at the hairdresser cost?

Texture: from straight to curly
Every length and every color is available in six textures. Choose one that matches your natural hair, otherwise the difference will be noticeable as soon as you wear your hair down:
- Straight
- Slightly wavy
- Normal wavy
- Strongly wavy
- Permed
- Curly
Because it is real hair, every texture can also be straightened or curled afterwards, with heat protection and preferably at 160 to 180 degrees.

How long do tape extensions last?
There are two answers to this question, and if you don’t keep them apart, you’ll end up disappointed.
The adhesive bond lasts four to eight weeks. That is the shortest span of all methods, not because the adhesive is poor, but because the adhesive surface lies flat against the head and becomes noticeable at just two centimeters of distance from the scalp. Your hair grows around one centimeter a month, and that sets the pace.
The hair itself lasts one to two years with good care and survives several rounds. When renewing, the old strips are loosened, the hair is cleaned and fresh adhesive is applied. Who tapes are right for, and who they’re not
Well suited to fine and thin hair. The reason is physics: the weight is spread over a wide surface instead of a single point. Where a bonding pulls on a few strands of natural hair, a tape lies flat. In addition, the work is done without heat, which noticeably relieves a sensitive scalp.
Less suited to very short hair. The adhesive surface needs length to be covered. Under about fifteen centimeters of natural hair it becomes difficult, and under ten it is hardly possible to do cleanly. Tapes are also more demanding with a very oily scalp, because oil is exactly what dissolves the adhesive.

Care: the three oil traps
Everything that loosens tapes prematurely has the same common denominator: oil and grease attack adhesive. That is not a flaw, but the very property that is used when removing them.
- Care products at the roots. Conditioner, masks, treatments, leave-in products and above all hair oil belong at least a hand’s width below the tapes. A single application of oil directly at the roots can be enough for a tape to slip the next day.
- Silicone in shampoo. Silicone settles as a film on the adhesive surface and creeps underneath it. A silicone-free shampoo doesn’t cost more, it just isn’t written in big letters on the packaging. A glance at the ingredient list is enough.
- Wet tapes for hours. Going to bed with wet hair is especially harmful for tapes, because the adhesive soaks up water and stays soft. Blow-dry the roots on a low setting after every wash.
The tip that is often missing: don’t wash at all for 48 to 72 hours after application. The adhesive only reaches its full hold after two to three days. If you shower the day after, you’re giving away weeks. The full instructions can be found under Washing extensions.
Removing tape extensions
With tapes this is much easier than with keratin bondings, because no tool is needed. All it takes is two things: the right solvent and patience.
The remover goes directly onto the adhesive surface, not next to it, and is given one to two minutes. Then the two wefts can be slowly pulled apart, always parallel to the hair, never jerking upward. Adhesive residue is combed out, not rubbed off. After that, the hair is washed, otherwise the next tape will stick to a film of residue.
Without a professional remover, oily products work too, just more slowly: let plenty of conditioner or hair oil sit for at least twenty minutes.
What you shouldn’t do: apply disinfectant, nail polish remover or high-proof alcohol to the scalp. It irritates, dries out and still only partially dissolves the adhesive. Are tapes gentler than bondings?
For fine hair, usually yes, because the weight is spread over a surface instead of a single point and the work is done without heat. With strong hair the difference is small, and bondings last longer there.
Do tape extensions work on short hair?
From about fifteen centimeters of natural hair it works cleanly, below that it is difficult. The adhesive surface needs length to be covered, otherwise it shows when you tie your hair up.
Can I reuse tape extensions?
Yes, that is the normal case. The hair stays intact, only the adhesive strips are used up. They are renewed, and the same hair goes into the next round.
Why do my tapes feel sticky?
Almost always residue: either old adhesive that wasn’t washed out after the last removal, or care products too close to the roots. Wash thoroughly once with silicone-free shampoo and blow-dry the roots.
Can I dye tape extensions?
Toning darker is possible to a limited extent, bleaching is not. Extensions no longer receive any nourishment from the scalp, so every chemical treatment puts one-sided strain on them. The safe way: decide on the color beforehand, if necessary as a custom color based on your photo or a strand you send in.
How many tapes is 100 grams?

How Tape Extensions are applied
- The natural hair is parted into horizontal sections, starting about a finger's width below the parting and above the ears.
- A thin strand of your natural hair is placed between two tapes: one from above, one from below. Your natural hair is enclosed in between, with no heat, no keratin, and no pliers.
- The tapes are pressed on firmly. A 100 g set equals 40 tapes, and application at the salon usually takes less than an hour.
- Do not wash for 48 to 72 hours after application. The adhesive only reaches its full hold after two to three days.
How long tapes last
Two numbers you need to keep apart: The attachment lasts until your own hair has carried it too far down, about one centimeter per month. The hair itself lasts significantly longer and is reused when it is moved up. You pay for the hair once and for the labor several times.

Extra lengths: 125 and 130 centimeters
With us, the selection doesn't stop at 60 or 70 centimeters. All lengths from 40 to 130 centimeters are available in five-centimeter steps — including 100, 110, 120, 125 and 130. You select them in the configurator just like any other length. No special request, no surcharge for special wishes, no extra waiting time on top.
What you should plan for with extra length
- More weight. The same fullness needs significantly more grams at 120 centimeters than at 45. For a full look from 85 centimeters, 150 to 250 grams is typical depending on hair density, not 100.
- Don't skimp on fullness at the ends. The longer the hair, the more noticeable it is when the ends get thinner. From 100 centimeters, 80 or 95 to 100 percent is worth it.
- The price rises evenly, in fixed steps of 5 centimeters each — not in sudden jumps just because it's called a "special length."
- Care becomes more important. Very long hair gets the least of what the scalp provides at the ends. Wash two to three times a week, and always apply conditioner to the lengths afterward.
Tape care
What do I wash extensions with?
Only with a sulfate-free and alcohol-free shampoo, ideally one made for extensions or dry hair. Brush through thoroughly before washing, use lukewarm water, and stroke the shampoo from the roots to the ends instead of rubbing, then rinse thoroughly.
How often should I wash them?
Two to three times a week. Extensions get no supply from the scalp and can't regrease themselves. Washing daily is the fastest way to ruin a set.
Conditioner and treatment
After every wash, apply conditioner only to the lengths and ends, never to the bonds. Use a mask or treatment once or twice a week. Silicone-free is better.
Drying and blow-drying
Gently squeeze out the water, don't rub. Let it dry until towel-dry first, then blow-dry on medium heat, always with heat protection and from top to bottom. Never go to bed with wet hair.
Brushing
Only use an extensions brush or soft bristles, and gently detangle several times a day, working from the ends upward. Don't comb wet hair.
At night
Braid loosely or tie into a ponytail, sleep on silk or satin, and detangle in the morning from the bottom up.
Sun, chlorine, sea
Avoid long sunbathing, chlorinated water and seawater. Braid your hair when swimming and rinse it thoroughly afterward.

Can you remove extensions yourself?
Rings, yes. Tapes, with patience, also yes. Keratin bondings only with the right remover. Wefts are better avoided, because you end up cutting blind at the back of the head. Acetone, flat irons and pulling will cost you natural hair in any case.
Can you reuse extensions?
Yes, that's the normal case. When reapplying, the old bond is released and the same strand is attached again. Only the bonding tip or the tape is renewed.
