With a human hair wig, you mainly pay for a quantity of hair in a certain length; style, lace and construction add their own surcharges or discounts. Once you understand that, you can put any price into perspective and spot right away when something is off.

The Real Prices, as of 2026

All prices are final prices in euros, with free shipping within Germany. These are custom-made items: each one is made to your color, length and quantity.

What the Price Is Made Of

The length. It is the biggest factor. Long hair in a quality that doesn’t thin out at the ends is rare. That’s why the price rises noticeably with every step, and above 100 cm it becomes steep. That isn’t a markup, it’s the sourcing cost.

The hair quantity. 100 g gives a natural, everyday fullness. 150 to 200 g is denser and heavier. More is not automatically better: a wig that is too dense quickly looks like a wig.

The construction. Machine-wefted means the hair is sewn onto wefts. Hand-tied means every strand is individually knotted in — that takes many times longer, but it looks more natural and can be parted more freely.

The color. Over 70 shades are available. If your shade isn’t among them, we make it as a custom color based on a photo.

Wig, Topper or Ponytail — What Fits When?

Not everyone who is looking for a wig actually needs one. Often much less is enough, and it costs much less too.

• Full wig (Wig) — when your own hair is to be completely covered. Also available as a Lace Closure or Lace Frontal, so the hairline looks natural.
• Topper — a hairpiece for the crown. For when your hair has thinned at the part but the rest is still there. Needs much less hair than a full wig.
• Ponytail — a clip-in ponytail, for special occasions rather than everyday wear.

Toppers come in four base sizes: 3×5, 4×4, 5×5 and 5×6. These measurements are in inches, not centimeters. So 4×4 is roughly 10 × 10 cm. The larger the base, the more area is covered and the more expensive it gets.

Which Measurements You Need for a Full Wig

Three measurements, taken with a soft tape measure, ideally by someone else:

1. Head circumference — once around the head, along the forehead and over the curve of the nape. Typical values are 52 to 60 cm.
2. Forehead to nape — from the hairline at the forehead over the crown to the hairline at the nape. Typically 32 to 40 cm.
3. Ear to ear — across the top of the head from the top of one ear to the top of the other. Typically 28 to 36 cm.

What You Should Know Before Ordering

Production takes 10 to 14 working days. Nothing is taken off a shelf, it is made for you. If you need something sooner, you’ll find in-stock items under Available Now with shipping in 1 to 3 working days.

For custom colors, you receive a photo before shipping. You see your finished hair and approve it before it leaves our house. If the color doesn’t match, it will be reworked.

And honesty requires us to say this: for a custom-made item made to your measurements and your custom color, there is no 14-day right of withdrawal — this is stated in § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 1 BGB (German Civil Code). For standard in-stock items, however, it applies as usual. That is exactly why there is a photo approval for custom colors, and for everyone the color ring, with which you can compare the shades at home beforehand.

What is the minimum price of a human hair wig?

At EchtHaar Direkt, wigs, toppers and ponytails made of 100 percent human hair start at 243,45 € for 40 cm length and 100 g of hair. The price rises with length and quantity; 60 cm with 100 g costs 362,06 €, 80 cm with 200 g costs 903,07 €.

Why are long human hair wigs so much more expensive?

Because long, uncut hair is rare. A 100 cm wig needs not only more hair, but hair that stays strong over its entire length and doesn’t thin out at the ends. That’s why the price rises much more steeply above 100 cm than below.

How many grams does a wig need?

100 g gives a natural everyday fullness. 150 to 200 g looks noticeably denser, but is also heavier to wear. For short lengths, 100 g is almost always enough; from about 70 cm, the same quantity looks visually thinner because it is spread over more length.

Can I dye a human hair wig?

Dyeing darker works with untreated hair. Lightening is tricky, because the hair loses structure in the process and does not grow back. The safe way is to have your desired color made right away — based on a photo.

How long does delivery take?

A custom-made piece takes 10 to 14 working days. In-stock items from the Ready to Ship category go out within 1 to 3 working days. Shipping within Germany is free.

Are wigs also available in extra-long lengths?

Yes, up to 130 cm. In stores, the limit is usually 60 to 70 cm. The length preview shows you where each length ends on you, based on your height.
