Where can you buy good human hair wigs?
You can find good human hair wigs at a specialist wig shop or online, made to measure. Look for 100% human hair, a suitable hair amount and the choice between wefted and hand-tied. At EchtHaar Direkt, every wig is made only after you place your order, as a full wig, Lace Frontal or Lace Closure, in 40 to 130 cm.
Which type of wig or hairpiece?
In the configurator, you first choose what you’d like. The percentages are the surcharges or discounts on the base price, exactly as shown in the shop.

For full wigs and Lace Fronts, you also choose the lace size of the wig (2×6, 7×7 with +8 %, 13×4 with +10 %, 13×6 with +15 %) and the type of lace: regular lace, HD Lace (+8 %) or HD Mesh (+4 %). Wefted or hand-tied
Wefted is our standard construction: hair wefts are sewn onto the base row by row. This is durable, looks dense and has a fixed parting. With hand-tied, each hair is knotted in individually with a needle: a finer hairline, a freely styleable parting and a flatter base. Hair amount, length, texture and color
- Hair amount: 100 to 500 g. Full wigs from 100 g, with 200 to 300 g being typical. Toppers, ponytails and hairpieces 100 to 175 g. Too much hair looks unnatural, more on this in How much hair does a wig need?. Extra amount +5, +10 or +15 g. The surcharges for color, texture, tip fullness and construction also apply to the extra amount; the configurator shows the exact amount.
- Length: 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125 and 130 cm. Extra-long lengths are also part of the regular selection, not a special request.
- Texture: straight, slightly wavy (+4 %), normal wavy (+8 %), strongly wavy (+12 %), permed (+16 %) or curly (+20 %).
- Tip fullness: 50 % well filled, 80 % full tips (+19 %), 95 to 100 % completely filled (+38 %).
- Color: over 70 colors from the color overview, plus ombré, color duo and color trio. If none fits, we make a custom color based on a photo.
Hair volume: how dense should the wig be?
How dense a wig looks is determined by two values at our shop: the hair amount in grams and the tip fullness in percent. The hair amount determines how much hair there is in total, and the tip fullness determines how much of it still reaches the ends.

Statements such as “85 to 90% hair volume” or “150% density” can be found at many providers. They are not standardized, and everyone calculates differently, so such a figure can’t be compared one to one. If you want a full result all the way to the ends, choose 80 or 95–100 % tip fullness with us; if you prefer a natural look, stay at 50 % and adjust the density via the number of grams. The three measurements
So that the wig stays in place without adhesive, the shop asks for three measurements when you order, ideally taken by a second person with a soft measuring tape:
- Head circumference: once around the head, along the forehead and over the curve of the nape. Typically 52 to 60 cm.
- Forehead to nape: from the hairline at the forehead over the crown to the hairline at the nape. Typically 32 to 40 cm.
- Ear to ear: across the top of the head from one ear to the other. Typically 28 to 36 cm.

Human hair or synthetic wig?
A wig made of 100 % human hair falls and shines like your own hair. You can wash, blow-dry, straighten and curl it, using heat protection just like with your own hair, and your hairdresser can cut it and adapt it to your hairstyle. We make a custom color based on a photo of your hair. Synthetic hair usually can’t tolerate heat and looks artificial more quickly.
The hair of a human hair wig lasts 1 to 2 years with good care. To buy, synthetic hair is usually cheaper; a custom-made human hair wig starts at 243,45 € for 40 cm with 100 g at our shop, and the configurator instantly shows the price for your selection.

You pay for an amount of hair in a length, not for a model. The prices from the configurator for the standard wefted construction, straight, 50 % tip fullness, final prices in euros:

Delivery time and photo approval
Every wig is made after you order: 10–14 working days, with a custom color 12–16 working days. With a custom color, you receive a photo of your finished hair for approval before it ships. Because it is a custom-made piece based on your measurements, there is no right of withdrawal for it, whereas there is for ready-to-ship stock from Ready to ship. How long can a human hair wig be?

How many grams does a full wig need?
From 100 g, usually 200 to 300 g. For long lengths from about 70 cm, choose a larger amount, because the same weight is spread over more length.
How long does a custom-made wig take?
10–14 working days to make, with a custom color 12–16 working days. With a custom color, you receive a photo for approval beforehand.
Why does a wig look unnatural?
Usually because of too much hair, not because of the color. Natural scalp hair gets thinner toward the ends and is finer at the temples. If a wig is equally dense everywhere, the hairline looks painted on and the style doesn’t move like your own hair. For full wigs, 200 to 300 g is usual. Do I need glue for the wig?
No. The fit, adjustable bands and clips hold the wig in place. Glue is only common with lace fronts for special occasions.
How does ordering a custom-made wig work?
In the wig configurator you choose the type, lace, construction, hair amount, length, texture and color, and when ordering you enter the three measurements: head circumference, forehead to nape and ear to ear. Your wig is then made, 10–14 working days, with a custom color 12–16 working days. With a custom color, you receive a photo of your finished hair for approval before shipping; only then does the parcel go out, free of charge within Germany.
Can I buy a human hair wig on invoice or in installments?
Yes. At EchtHaar Direkt you can buy on invoice or in installments via Klarna for all items, including wigs, toppers and ponytails, with no surcharge on the value of the goods. How dense and full will a custom-made wig be?
We don’t have fixed specifications like 85 or 90 % hair volume, as you may know from off-the-shelf wigs; you set the fullness yourself. Two values determine it: the base amount (full wigs from 100 g, 200 to 300 g recommended, toppers and hairpieces with 100 to 175 g) and the tip fullness. At 50 %, the hair becomes lighter toward the ends, just as hair grows naturally. At 80 %, it is evenly full all the way to the ends, a level most customers choose. At 95 to 100 %, it is as thick at the bottom as at the top. If you want a dense, full wig, choose 80 % or 95 to 100 %; the configurator shows you the price for it instantly.
How long does a human hair wig last?
The hair itself lasts 1 to 2 years with good care. Exactly how long depends almost entirely on care and how often it is worn. If you wash rarely, brush when dry and use heat sparingly, you will get significantly more wear from it than someone who washes weekly and straightens with high heat. Can I wear a wig as a transition until my hair is longer?
Yes. To make it look natural: better not too much hair, for full wigs 200 to 300 g is usual, and too much hair is the most common reason for an artificial look. Add a lace front (lace) for an inconspicuous hairline. Human hair can be cut and styled like your own hair. For the size you only need three measurements: head circumference, forehead to nape and ear to ear.
